Omaka Aviation Heritage Centre

Omaka Aviation Heritage Centre Review

The Omaka Aviation Heritage Centre showcases a huge display of World War I-era planes and memorabilia in the Knights of the Sky exhibition. Highlights include the world's only Caproni Ca22, an Etrich Taube, and a Morane-Saulinier Type BB. New Zealand's movie-making talents have been drawn into constructing the super-realistic displays. The center is backed by the Classic Fighters Charitable Trust, which runs a three-day international air show in odd-numbered years when vintage and classic aircraft will be on display on the ground and in the sky. New additions include the flying suit belonging to U.S. top ace Eddie Rickenbacker, additional Richthofen material, and even Goering's WW1 flying log books. There's an on-site cafe and shop as well.
