This café and bar is one of those cozy, buzzing places so prevalent on the West Coast. After a busy day hiking the glacier, kayaking, or dropping onto the ice by helicopter, it's the perfect place to refuel. The food is good country fare, and lots of it. Favorites are the roast of the day, sticky pork ribs with a barbecue sauce, and the deep sea cod with chips. Desserts are just as wholesome, with apple crumble, a chocolate pavlova, ice-cream sundae, and good ol' banoffie pie. The wine and beer lists are stacked with NZ favorites, and there are sports on-screen, generally muted.
