Kimi Ora means "seek health" in Maori. The developer was set on creating an environmentally friendly resort, including a restaurant (not always open so call first) serving as much organic food as possible, and various activities and therapies relating to holistic health. For all the pampering, the overall vibe is low-key. The guest rooms have cozy wood walls and simple furnishings. Pros: Bordered by a mix of exotic forest and regenerating native bush, all the rooms have a distant sea view, as much a health resort as a holiday spot so come for a few days and recharge your batteries, some rooms have a spa bath on the deck. Con: 10-minute walk to Kaiteriteri beach.
