Lavendyl Lavender Farm
Lavendyl Lavender Farm Review
At Lavendyl Lavender Farm, just off the main highway a few kilometers, inland and north of the town center, rows of lavender stretch out against the stunning backdrop of Mt. Fyffe and the Seaward Kaikoura Range. Jan and Corry Zeestraten run this working 5-acre farm; the blooms are harvested from December to February. Visitors are welcome to watch the processing as it happens. Walk through the heaven-scented gardens, and then head for the shop, where bunches of lavender hang from the ceiling and lavender mustards, chutneys, soaps, oils and salves line the shelves. They also have two rustic self-contained B&B cottages in the garden (NZ$175 per night).
