$$$-$$$$, Seafood, Kaikoura
Fodor's Review:
This casual and modern café relies strongly, as the name suggests, on the local delicacy. Crayfish isn't cheap, but this kitchen sure knows how to prepare it. Other types of seafood also figure large on the menu, and if you feel like a change, you can choose from several variations on the steak, chicken, and lamb themes. Homemade desserts are worth leaving room for. In summer you can get a table outdoors; in winter an open fire roars at night.
