Wairau River Wines Review
Phil and Chris Rose were among the first contract grape growers in Marlborough. Now they produce a notably good range of classic Marlborough-grown wines under their own label. The tasting room is made from mud bricks and has a warming log-fire in winter; it also serves as a restaurant concentrating on local produce, which is open noon-3. Try the multi-award-winning sauvignon blanc and other varietals, all from the Wairau River estate vineyards.
