River Haven Lodge

RD3, Longford, Murchison, Tasman, 7007, New Zealand

This is essentially a fly-fishing lodge but if fishing isn't your thing, don't let that stop you from relaxing in these three stylish, comfortable, Colorado-style cabins on 5 acres of landscaped grounds set on the banks of the murmuring Mangles River, just outside of Murchison. Scott "The Trout" Murray, one of New Zealand's top fly-fishing guides, and his Colorado-born wife, Leya, serve break, lunch (perhaps a picnic), predinner drinks and canapés, and dinner, all included in your rate. If you want to cook for yourself Leya will help by stocking up the cabin with anything you ask for. Prints by famous fly-fisherman Dave Whitlock adorn the walls, an HRV system keeps the air fresh, and there's a fully equipped kitchen. While this is essentially a fly-fishing lodge, your hosts will also organize a day out hiking, biking, or visiting wineries.
