Drive through the huge parklike grounds and lavender-lined driveway and you'll come to this striking turn-of-the-20th-century building, which was once a convent, beloved by a small group of local nuns who still visit from time to time. The grand old home, now a Qualmark five-star boutique lodge, hardly evokes a nunnery with its luxuriously decorated rooms, rambling lawns and gardens, and evening glasses of Marlborough wine (they produced their first vintage in 2009). A heated pool, pétanque, billiards, croquet, and tennis are available to occupy idle moments, free bikes are also available. The Chapel honeymoon suite is the pick of the rooms, but each has a lovely view. If you're planning to get married then the garden chapel will be perfect.
