White Horse Hill Campground Review

Although this DOC-managed campsite is really just a grassy basin surrounded by massive mountains and a rumbling glacier, its basic facilities and closeness to trails make it ideal to park a camper or pitch a tent in. Make sure those keas don't steal your lunch or rip the rubber parts off your cars! You can pay at the DOC Visitors Centre before setting up camp or in the honesty box down at the campsite. The running water needs to be boiled for three minutes before you drink it; you can grab a shower back at the Day Shelter in the village for $1. No reservations are taken; it's first-come, first-served.
