Eichardt's Private Hotel Review

Once patronized by miners during the 1860s gold rush, Eichardt's now regularly receives awards as a boutique ski resort hotel. Guest rooms are done in rich cocoa brown and cream; all have sitting areas with fireplaces, dressing rooms, and bathrooms with heated floors and double vanities. You can request a lake or mountain view. Staff are exceptionally helpful and can arrange anything from a massage to a helicopter ride. The House Bar has delicious tapas along with an impressive selection of Otago and other New Zealand wines. Eichardt's now has cottages with full kitchens, two bedrooms, and a common area in a nearby building.
