Lakes District Museum
Lakes District Museum Review
Stop by the Lakes District Museum, which has artifacts of the gold-rush days, an information center, and a small bookstore and gallery. You can even rent pans and get gold-panning tips to try your luck in the Arrow River. When your patience frays and your hands go icy, keep in mind that a hobby prospector found a 275g nugget in this very river in 2006. (He sold it on eBay for US$15,000!)
