Fodor's Review

This charming historic wooden building in the Frankton Marina used to be the New Zealand Railways Shipping Office and is right beside the lake in a sunny spot looking out at the Remarkables mountains. Take the Frankton Arm walk by the lake and head here for a great coffee and lovely breakfast or lunch. They do tasty appetizers for sharing, such as lamb skewers or blue-cod sliders, with more to choose from in the cabinet. Come back in the evening (Thursday–Saturday) and enjoy dinner on the deck while watching the sunset. The menu's not extensive but is done well and includes a small but good kids' menu. If the weather's bad; it's cozy and warm inside with a log burner and rustic wooden interior.
