Fodor's Review

You'll be reminded just how good the music was from the 1940's-60's, because that's all they play here, with decor to match. Feast your eyes on a collection of relics of the past, right down to the mismatched crockery. The food is also a delightfully eclectic mix, with flavors from NZ and around the world (like French toast or Mexican fried eggs for breakfast or Korean BBQ Pork roll for lunch). The 3-hour slow-roasted rib-eye with double-baked potato gratin and pinot and

thyme jus is such a favourite it's on the lunch and dinner menu (make sure you're hungry). Good food, great service, and a lovely atmosphere. Save room for dessert, or for a delightful finish to your evening ask for an espresso Martini—it's not on the menu, but they'll prepare one for you.
