From Christchurch take Highway 1 south. At the tiny town of Rangitata turn right onto Highway 79 to Lake Tekapo. A half dozen bus companies serve Lake Tekapo including InterCity Coach, Wanaka Connexions, and Cook Connections—check the Lake Tekapo Tourism Web site for a complete list.
