Fodor's Review:
A boiler-size oven fed on manuka wood (from a kind of tea tree) is the heart of the kitchen of this busy modern café. Enhanced by this manuka infusion, twice-cooked lamb shanks on herbed mashed potatoes with beetroot relish are especially delicious, as is the wood-oven-roasted sirloin, served with thick-cut fries and a tomato-and-chili jam. The wine list is limited but high quality; the breakfasts are momentous. On cold evenings, a cheerful fire glows in the firebox.
