$-$$, Irish, Gisborne
Fodor's Review:
For a casual place to hoist a few while nibbling hearty pub fare, you can't beat an Irish pub, and Gisborne now has one of its own. The traditional furnishings include brass chandeliers, dark woodwork, and green leather upholstery, and pretty stained-glass partitions separate the dining alcoves. You could sample from the selection of bar snacks or go for something heartier -- perhaps oven-roasted pork finished with an apple-and-brandy sauce.
