Opossum World pairs a shop selling opossum fur products with a mini-museum about the opossum's effects on New Zealand's environment. Wander through a simulated bush and read claims of how opossums consume 21,000 tons of vegetation every night, dramatically altering the forest ecosystem. Products made with opossum fur include hats, gloves, and rugs; a soft blend of merino wool and opossum fur is made into sweaters, scarves, and socks.
