Hiking and Walking

"Walking with Wheels" is a collection of well-groomed walks put together by Dunedin City Council detailing those suitable for wheelchair users and families with strollers (the three-wheeled rugged terrain kind). You can download a leaflet from the Dunedin i-SITE website .

Signal Hill. This rise just northeast of the city center offers good views of the city below and the surrounding hills. It's a popular walking destination and an excellent mountain-biking venue. At the opposite end of town, Saddle Hill looks southward to Mosgiel and the Taieri Plain. The monument at the top was built in 1940 to mark 100 years of British sovereignty in New Zealand.
