Fodor's Review

Described by its host, Jane, as a place for travelers rather than tourists or party animals, this hotel offers a delightful blend of character and modern accommodations within walking distance of shops, cafés, and Pukekura Park. The decor is vibrant and quirky, with rooms in all shapes and sizes, all scrupulously clean. Those in the main building (two of which are four-person dorms) share bathrooms, but there are plenty to go around. There's also an outdoor veranda, communal

kitchen, dining area, sun porch, and two lounges—with spacious couches and cozy fire, respectively. Guests are welcome to use the laundry after 4, and Wi-Fi runs throughout the building. In addition, five modern, self-contained cottages open to gardens and have off-street parking.
