North Island's West Coast Restaurants

Fodor's Review

A consistent draw for a sleepy Sunday brunch, ladies who lunch, and that special-occasion dinner, this eatery starts with coffee and cabinet cakes at 9. A wood-fired pizza oven adds a bread and pizza focus to the menu, which runs the gamut of brunch and light-lunch fare as well as fusion and contemporary dining. Dinner selections could include Vietnamese chicken salad, slow-cooked duck with hoisin Chinese plum jus and Asian vegetables, or Hereford prime sirloin steak with

prawn and garlic butter and rustic Parmesan fries. A full beverage menu includes Good George craft beer, brewed in nearby Hamilton. Seating is indoors and out. Though the hard surfaces of the minimalist decor can make it noisy, the food tastes great.
