Opened in 2010, the striking and sustainable structure has an open design that reflects the drama of the limestone landscape surrounding it. Artwork honors Māori culture. Inside, you can buy tickets to visit the caves, find information about the region, relax in the café and restaurant, and browse the gift shop. There are two visitor centers in Waitomo. Waitomo Glowworm Caves Visitor Centre is managed by the company that owns access to Waitomo Glowworm, Ruakuri, and
Aranai caves. The independent Waitomo i-SITE Discovery Centre offers impartial advice and bookings for all attractions in the region.
