The only one of its kind in the country, this museum is worth a visit whether or not you're a rugby fan, since it offers insights into a game that many New Zealanders treat like a religion. After years of being crammed into a tiny building, in 2011 the collection moved to a new, exciting location, upstairs in the Te Manawa museum complex. The growing collection of rugby memorabilia dates back to the start of this national game in 1870, and sound and interactive fun are
incorporated. You can even "have a go"—kick, tackle, and jump in the lineout, testing your playing skills quite safely.
