Anndion Lodge Review

With its blend of upmarket "flashpacker" lodge rooms and stylish self-contained suites and apartments, along with fantastic facilities and personal attention to match, Anndion is one of New Zealand's market leaders. Owners Ann and Dion (get it?) sold their Harley bikes to afford the standard of service they want to provide, and they are so enthusiastic that the property just keeps on growing. Even where bathrooms are shared, soaps and shampoos are provided. The shared lodge kitchen has a sandwich press, rice cooker, electric knives, and a cappuccino maker. Those who don't want to cook can eat at Anndionce Restaurant & Bar on-site. Outside are a covered barbecue area, saltwater pool, hot tub, and infrared sauna; inside, a TV lounge with extensive DVD library, pool table, and free Internet access. Breakfasts can be preordered. Apartment guests are offered a complimentary welcome drink—a nice touch. The lodge sits across the road from the Whanganui River.
