Based on the philosophy that cuisine evolves as populations change, the goal here is to fuse Eastern and Western cultures. The Malaysia Chicken Curry is unashamedly spicy, and there's no mild version. If that doesn't suit, move around the globe to find Gobi lamb in black pepper sauce or red jade beef with shitake mushrooms and aromatic oyster sauce. There's more to Mao than dinner: brunch can kick off your day with any of the classic Kiwi breakfast fare, the lunch menu includes Cajun chicken salad and the Mao Burger.
