Fodor's Review

Tairoa, meaning "linger, stay longer," is a fitting name for this relaxing B&B. Built in 1875, the renovated villa has three en suite guest rooms that look out over the woodland garden and swimming pool; individually decorated, all include original features such as ornamental fireplaces with carved wooden mantels. Guests share an elegant dining room and a cozy sitting room with leather sofas, a wood fire, and Sky TV; there’s also a selection of magazines and games to keep you entertained. A full breakfast is included, and dinner can be arranged in advance. A separate two-bedroom cottage can accommodate families; it has a full kitchen as well as a home-theater system and veranda overlooking a spacious lawn. A three-bedroom cottage, known as The Gatehouse, is full of character.
