Mon Logis Review

Built in the 1860s and one of the few houses that escaped destruction in the 1931 earthquake, this splendid mansion-cum-boutique hotel feels like a little piece of France. Its front windows overlook the ocean and distant Cape Kidnappers; in the guest rooms, white matchboard ceilings hover above white bedspreads and lace-trimmed pillowcases. Gallic host Gerard Averous is passionate in his desire to ensure his guests are comfortable and enjoy their stay. Breakfast can include freshly baked croissants and a French omelet.
