Discovery Lodge Review
The only tourist accommodations in the park to give a panoramic view of three active volcanoes is this friendly complex, only minutes from the ski slopes. Most accommodations are in self-contained motel units and chalets. One-bedroom units sleep up to six people. There are also some doubles priced for backpackers, and powered campsites. The restaurant serves breakfast and dinner, and you can request a packed lunch. There is a fully licensed bar and a guest lounge with sundeck. The lodge runs its own shuttle to the Tongariro Track, arriving just before 6 am.
