Next to Rainbow Springs Nature Reserve this conservation center receives kiwi eggs, then hatches and rears these endangered birds before returning them to the wild. From September to April you'll see eggs or baby chicks, which have an extremely high cute factor.

Interesting view into kiwi recovery. Plenty of time in the room with 3 kiwi for everyone to see them. Plus possibility of seeing kiwi in various boxes as they are hatching and recovering. Lots of information on kiwi, the program, etc. Then you are left in a static display area.
