Fodor's Review

A little off-the-beaten-track, these single-story wooden chalets are excellent for families or groups who want a little time away from the shops. There are plenty of activities to keep you busy: kayaking, soccer, pétanque (the French game similar to boccie), and swimming in the pool. Large, bright multiroom cabins have contemporary furniture and kitchen areas, some with great harbor views, while the log home has its own pool overlooking the harbor. The cabins are

down a long drive that is signposted from State Highway 25 north out of Thames, and the hosts John and Rose Dean are happy to arrange activities. Property also includes a large, shared lodge with bunks for up to 19 (NZ$25 per person), and at the other end of the scale is the deluxe, 2 bedroom Log Cabin with private pool, for NZ$250.

Te Kouma Harbour Cottages Review

A charming, peaceful lodge in a little garden of Eden outside of Coromandel. Our proprietor, Rose, did everything possible and then some, to make our stay comfortable in this delightful place. Our cabin was clean and comfy, with a spectacular view of the Firth of Thames and local wildlife. We couldn't have asked for more.
