Getting Here and Around

To reach Waipara from Christchurch, take State Highway 1 north. Waipara's about 45 minutes away, where State Highway 7 turns left off the main road. You can head from here to Hanmer Springs and Nelson on State Highway 7 and other northern towns along State Highway 1. The Hanmer Connection runs a daily service between Hanmer Springs and Christchurch, stopping in Waipara and elsewhere en route in the Waipara Valley.
