Owner Ann warmly greats her guests no matter what unearthly time they arrive at this stately yet down-home bed-and-breakfast, with beautifully decorated rooms and unexpected little extras (home-baked biscuits in your room is just the start). Built in 1861, it's one of the oldest character buildings left in Christchurch and has been extensively refurbished. Located on a busy street, its triple-glazed windows ensure traffic noise is neglible, but the back rooms are quietest
(and cheaper). Breakfast is like royalty here with lots to choose from; the eggs Benedict (made from scratch) is superb.
