Fodor's Review:
The French Farm Winery is the only winery on Banks Peninsula and occupies a stunning site overlooking Akaroa Harbour. Surrounded by groves of native manuka and coastal bush the 20-acre vineyard produces sauvignon blanc, chardonnay and pinot noir. The cellar door also has Akaroa Harbour merlot, cabernet sauvignon, rosé and riesling, so there's something for everyone. The on-site restaurant is hailed for its rack of lamb and Akaroa salmon-main courses cost $10 to $27 and the massive fireplace makes it a cozy spot in winter.
