Nicknamed the Giant's House, because it looked like one to a visiting child, Linton is full of art in unexpected places, starting at the funky letterbox topped with a teapot. Up the steep driveway hides a large garden crisscrossed by paths, larger-than-life mosaics, and colorful, welded sculptures. One of the guest rooms has a boat-shape bed, another a conservatory. The 1880 house and garden are open for tours from 2 to 4 PM daily, October to June ($10-$12). The house is also the venue for parties and art workshops run by the owner, artist Josie Martin.
