Although the decor is aging, this is generally considered to be Christchurch's top Japanese restaurant. Sala Sala wins praise for its ability to pair wines and sake with its dishes. Diners can choose from sushi, sashimi, teriyaki, tempura, teppanyaki, or traditional kaiseki set meals. The teppanyaki bar gives the chefs the opportunity to demonstrate their considerable skills with flames and flashing utensils. You might not recognize all the ingredients, but they will be fresh and delicious.
