Once the Dux, a long-standing Christchurch institution, finds a new venue, or two, they'll be up and running again. Originally a casual vegetarian-seafood restaurant, you'd usually find Akaroa salmon on the menu, along with vegetarian picks such as pasta, pizzas, or enchiladas. The Dux also has a boutique brewery and plenty of live music, and was voted Pub of the Year 2006 and 2008 by the national Bartender Magazine. Their new venue will be more of a live music spot than
previously but all the other good things will be there too—maybe spread over several temporary venues. Check the website for opening details.
