Fodor's Review:
Saturday cricketers, Sunday picnickers, and everyday morning runners are three types of Aucklanders you'll see enjoying the rolling, 340-acre park. Watch the local paper for free summer weekend-evening concerts, which usually include opera and fireworks displays. Take a bottle of wine and a basketful of something tasty and join in with the locals -- up to 300,000 of them per show. Within the Domain, the domed Wintergardens (open daily 10-4) house a collection of tropical plants and palms and seasonally displayed hothouse plants -- a good stop for the horticulturally inclined.
