Brew lovers and Brits craving a taste of home head straight for Keith Galbraith's alehouse, as do many Kiwis before a rugby match a nearby Eden Park. The English-style ales are made on the premises and served at proper cellar temperature. Keith learned the art of brewing in the United Kingdom and sticks religiously to the style. Order a pint and dig into bangers and mash (seriously good sausages made by a local butcher with meat marinated in the Grafton Porter ale atop creamy mashed potatoes). People also come for the smoked fish platter—a selection of fish and seafood smoked at the Coromandel smokehouse. There's also a reasonable selection of whiskey.
