An internal spiral staircase leads to the Lighthouse, a two-story suite on the top floor of a turret. The glass doors of the dayroom fold open onto a wraparound deck overlooking the golden sands of Oneroa Bay, where boats moor and the swimming is great. From the bedroom on the first floor the view is equally spectacular. A long central room, with doors onto the sail-covered deck, divides this boutique hotel and gives onto a cozy sunken lounge. In the Bridge Room, up a flight of stairs, bifold windows off the sun porch frame a view of the bay. If you go for one of the three Boatshed Rooms, leave the louvered doors to your private deck open, for fresh sea air as you sleep. Owner Jonathan Scott, a former chef, prepares dinners by arrangement. Pros: Beautiful location, lovely rooms. Con: Some say the cooking is not always up to scratch.
