There's no better vantage point for people-watching on Ponsonby Road than the tables outside this longtime local favorite. Should outdoors not be an option, you can sit in the minimalist concrete interior of what was once a motorcycle shop. (With an eclectic clientele, the people-watching is good inside, too.) The excellent food is largely Italian, and the place is particularly known for its thin-crust pizzas, the best in Auckland. Other seemingly simple dishes shine, too, such as the scampi on linguine with a hint of chili. The bar cranks up as the sun goes down.
