Fodor's Review:

With a wine list of more than 550 of the best New Zealand and international wines, it's no wonder this restaurant has been described as one of the best in the world for wine lovers. Owners Tony and Moira Forsyth have many vintages that are no longer available anywhere else. Spectacularly perched atop a finger of land, the restaurant commands a nearly 360-degree view. Te Whau's own bordeaux blend is much praised; you'll be able to try their chardonnay only here. They specialize in seafood; if the salmon house-smoked over oak and manuka (a native tea tree) wood is on the menu, don't miss it.
