The friendly Dunleavy family started planting vines in 1989. Now their Te Motu Bordeaux blend, which is made only when conditions are right, is on the wine list at many Michelin-starred restaurants in France—a great endorsement. The winery gives tastings, but it's best to call first to check for times. The restaurant, the Shed, is exactly that—and it prides itself on garden-to-plate cooking. and everything is made on-site from scratch. Reservations are essential.
