With design concepts that could be from a science-fiction movie (actually, some of them are), the Metro Centre is worth a walk even if you don't intend to partake in its entertainment. Spiral staircases, bridges designed to look like film, and elevators in the shape of rockets regularly attract design and architecture students -- as well as hordes of teenagers. The Metro Centre incorporates a 13-screen cineplex (which includes two "gold class" cinemas with reclining armchairs), an international food court, and several bars, including the Playhouse Pub, an English-style tavern with a Shakespearean theme. A video arcade, bookstore, and photo developer add to the diverse mix.
