Great Ponsonby Bed & Breakfast Review

Convivial hosts Gerry and Sally will welcome you into their Pacific-theme villa on a quiet street off Ponsonby Road. Rooms are brightened with colorful, locally made tiles and art, and the windows are sandblasted with Pacific designs. The cozy lounge is stocked with music, films, books, and magazines, and has an honor bar. Five of the rooms have kitchenettes and open off the courtyard. A few minutes' walk puts you in the thick of the Ponsonby cafés and the well-connected owners can point you in all the right directions.

Wonderful and engaging hosts in a fantastic location close to cafes, shops and downtown. One of the best B&B experiences we've ever had; so good that we have stayed here a few times now and look forward to our next visit with Gerry & Sally. A "must stay" if you plan to visit Auckland. The self contained apartments have everything you need in a smart design and beautifully decorated space.

This is the best hotel in the world. We arrived here on our first night in New Zealand stayed for a week. It was perfect to get us rested, settled and in the know.

The beds were huge, the free wine and coffee and banana bread and dog on arrival were shear pleasure and made us feel at home.

I'm not a great B&B fan but this changed my mind. While the hosts helped barter out the best deals around town, we could just chill out in peace with a bottle of wine on the veranda outside our room.

We got to see a couple of the 11 rooms and the decor is a pleasure throughout. Apparently it's called arthotel for a reason.

Everything was taken care of on our stay, there's a beach near by for a dip. There's a strong free wireless connection throughout for work. A work desk, leather sofa, sky tv, dvd and coffee, champagne, free adapters and deliscous piles of crumpets, made to order blue cheese omelletes, second fresh fruit salad and fine muesli, and a nice big plunger of coffee for breakfast.

It's quiet location on a side street in Ponsonby is peaceful but literally just one minute walk from literally award winning restaurants, cafe's, blue's, parks, views and buses.

    Yes, award winning buses.
