This magnificent Edwardian building continues to stand out on Auckland's waterfront. The 1912 building is still used for its original purpose, and it's here that you can catch the ferry to Devonport as well as to Waiheke and other Hauraki Gulf islands. The building also houses bars and restaurants -- more recent additions. Nearby, and easily seen from the Ferry Building, is Marsden Wharf, where French frogmen bombed and sank the Greenpeace vessel Rainbow Warrior in 1985.
