Health & Safety in Tahiti

Stay alert when driving around Tahiti's coastal road. The east coast road, in particular, has several bends and is narrow in parts. Vandals have spray-painted over signs indicating towns (in more than a few places), making it hard to know where you are from your car seat. Play it safe, drive at a reasonable speed, and have patience. And whenever possible, opt for bottled water.
