Fodor's Review

Located at the Pointe des Pecheurs (fishermen's point), this is one of the best museums in the South Pacific. Situated on the site of an ancient marae, its exhibits tell the story of Polynesian history and culture dating back thousands of years. You'll see replicas of old sailing boats, tools, and artifacts and learn all about tattooing and the traditional skills of weaving and quilt making.
