Qamea Resort and Spa Review

Guests rave about the staff at this fun couples resort, which merges particularly suave rooms with a natural setting. Staff-guest volleyball matches and sunset crabbing are the playful side while lounge-style lighting in the dining bure and a do-not-disturb red coconut foster the honeymooner appeal. All the bures are within steps of the beach and feature an outdoor shower, daybed living area and—great touch—heated towel racks. Honeymoon bures have hot tubs and more central location while Premium bures, set apart on the ground, feature daybeds on their decks and small private pools. Snorkeling is good straight off the beach and there's excellent diving nearby. A brand-new rain-forest spa with Guinot products has beachside massage tables. Meals offer plenty of selection and the California-style (lighter) Pacific Rim and international dishes are supplemented by a complimentary sunset cocktail and hor d'oeuvres. Owing to room and beachside meal service, some honeymooners are rarely seen. Qamea is a 30-minute combination van-and-boat ride from Taveuni's airport.
