Fodor's Review

This is about as close as you can get to enjoying a private tropical island for less than $100 a night. Owned by South Sea Cruises, the 4-acre island hostel has a single indoor guest space for the bar and "office," and a covered outdoor picnic dining area. Above these is a 32-bed dorm, including a couple of semi-private six-bed enclaves and two bathrooms. Most visitors arrive for a couple of nights as part of an 11-night Awesome Adventures package or as one of up to 300

day-trippers who scuba dive, sail, kayak, dip in the small pool, or lay out on the pretty beach. When the sand settles at night, those remaining enjoy a hearty two-course buffet-style dinner of curry, stir-fry chicken, steamed fish or the like, wager on which crab will race out of the circle first, and play simple games conducive to drinking and flirting.
