Bushwalking

Yarra Ranges National Park. About 50 miles east of Melbourne, this nearly 200,000-acre national park extending north of the Yarra River has plenty to keep your legs busy. Cross a 1,148-foot long elevated walkway (known as the Rainforest Gallery) to see 400-year-old Mountain Ash and Myrtle Beech trees, trek the 18-mile O’Shannassy Aqueduct Trail, or climb the lookout tower at the peak of Mt. Donna. Afterward, unpack lunch at one of several picnic areas. For more advice, stop into the Yarra Valley Visitor Information Centre in Healesville.
