Fodor's Review

Housed in a rustic redbrick barn that was once home to the thoroughbred stallions of the illustrious Muranna Park racing stable, this award-winning winery and restaurant is set on 100 acres. Full of country charm, it's also said to be the peninsula's leading producer of varietal wine. The Shiraz is the stable's most awarded wine, while their Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir have picked up a few medals as well. All wines are grown and made on the estate, and tours can be arranged for the technically savvy visitor with advanced notice. Meals, served either indoors in the barn Cellar Door (the former horse boxes have been retained as dining areas for small groups) or outside under big canvas umbrellas, will not break the bank. A grazing platter of many delicacies such as marinated vegetables, cheeses, olives, and dips suits two people (A$35), and the soy and ginger prawns on roasted carrot puree with spinach and sesame salad is A$30. The starters are cheaper and often quite large. On Sunday there's live music from 1–4 pm. Wine tastings are free, but there are no group tastings on Sunday during the busy hours of 11–3.
